I love the old 45! I learned to operate a combine on my uncles old cab model 45. The combine was a little rough to say the least but that gas burning 4 cylinder ran like a Singer sewing machine. Also had an opportunity to combine oats when i was a teenager on a 55 John Deere combine with a 6 cylinder gas engine. It is truly amazing how far combines have come since the days of these old beauties. You have a very sharp looking operation and I hope y’all are getting the rains needed to make a good crop.
Well I hope we get some rain. We’ve missed nearly every forecasted chance. I think we are just shy of 2″ total since seed first hit soil. Suppose to hit 90 by the end of the week. All our crops look really good right now, but I don’t know how many more 90 degree days they can take without at least a little something.
The Hercules motor does sound pretty good. I’ve got a couple videos of it up on my YouTube channel. My plan is to get both combines pictured side by side when we get the platform hooked on for wheat harvest. That should be pretty cool.
