Every year the company we grow popcorn for plants and harvests a test plot often with thousands of trials in a six acre grid. This year they are using nine acres. They use all kinds of hybrids for lots of different reasons, all of which are not known to me. The equipment they use is always interesting. Their planter has two lawn mower seats mounted to it and the seeds are placed into the planter by hand from tiny envelopes. They plant very slow. It will take them most of a day to plant the plot.
Here you can see their truck filled with trays that sit on top of the planter filled with the envelopes of different varieties. Interesting stuff!
