Combine gets it first fill of fuel at its new home

It's amazing how efficient the latest equipment can be. Sixteen rows in the space of twelve! Unfortunately this wasn't in the local paper or major newspaper, it was in the weekly all agriculture paper.

This is how you know you're getting nice used equipment.

Wheat beans planted around July 4th looking really good. They got some decent rain this week too.

I put this on twitter earlier in the week saying "You are jealous of my self-propelled sprayer!"

Feed bin we used when we had hogs is coming down.

Old hat, new hat.

Comments

  1. The average consumer has no idea of hw much it costs to farm Just for the non farmers (especially no ag people) just how much fuel does that combine go through an hour and what is the purchase price? (Bet its enough to make a down payement on a cow outfit!)

  2. I live in the Midwest and never once heard of “wheat beans”. What the dickens is that stuff?

    1. That’s what we sometimes call double crop beans. This is when we plant a soybean crop immediately following wheat harvest in early July if conditions are right. It’s an opportunity, albeit a bit risky, to get two crops on some ground in one year.

  3. That report on the S690 has to be from Indiana Agri News. How ironic that you will be getting another new combine 2 years later now in 2013.Would like to see it
