If you have never seen a corn field grow from the day of planting all the way through harvest I can help you out! On YouTube I’ve made a playlist dedicated to one of our corn fields growing in 2020. The corn you see is waxy corn growing in the field surrounding our farm shop and our grain storage.
We have done a few interesting things agronomically in the field this season. Some variable rate nitrogen was applied, but we also included some flat rate strips as checks. Our neighbors brought their high clearance Hagie sprayer in July to apply fungicide. They left a couple of check strips so we can evaluate the ROI of the fungicide pass after harvest.
Please enjoy the videos. I’d love if you drop a comment here or on YouTube so we can chat about what’s going on in the field!
I’ve been to a lot of ag conferences, and these videos are some of the most concise and informative of any information I’ve gotten. Great work. Thanks for sharing the numbers.
Super Interesting and informative videos. Highly technological Indiana farming with computer, GPS, app yield estimates… cost comparisons of diff plots is so useful, including the hook and string counting method. Love the family farm. Earthworms too.
When we grew sweet corn in Hawii, it was a different scale and whole ‘nother ball game…well, you saw it yourself with other crops, “old fashioned” techniques. My farmer husband would be so impressed too with your videos. Well done!
