I had a great idea come to me today while planting popcorn. I’ll pick a field of soybeans and a field of corn at the “home” farm since I’ll see those fields nearly every day. Once the seeds germinate I’ll take a picture in the same spot every week through harvest and then post all the pictures in one big post so we can all see the process from seed to harvest. Well, maybe two big posts. A bean post and a corn post!
What do you think of that?
Great idea. I’m thinking of doing the same thing but with a new pasture for our dairy cows.
Very cool! I wonder if I can compile all the pictures into a YouTube video?
Two places that make nice video slide shows for free:
http://animoto.com/ Easy to use.
http://picasa.google.com This is a free photo editing program that has a nice video slide show function. I use picasa a lot.

Alright, thanks! I’ll keep those in mind. I’ve always used Photobucket, but mostly just as a place to dump all my pics. I’m actually messing with the editor right now. Haven’t used it much.
Sounds like a great idea. Many people have never seen how those plants grow and become the food on their plates.
That’s what I was thinking. There are some days with corn where you could take a picture in the evening and it could look at lot different in the morning! Think I’ll stick to the weekly schedule though.
I came to this same idea but with video. Without intending I took a video of the same field working ground, planting and seeing the emergence. Next will be replant of the drowned areas and so on. At the end of the year, I’ll have a year video of one field.
So great minds think alike.

As you can see from your readers above….it is a very good idea. Would you be able to make it run together like a time lapse video?
I’ll experiment with some things and let you know in about six months 🙂
What a great idea! I would love to see the process-
had to dig up an old post for you….. any link to this accomplishment?
I have the videos, just need to get them posted.
Apparently Photobucket and WordPress don’t play well together. I need to try another way of putting the pictures together. Hmmmmmmm
