The Peterson Bros are Farming and They Grow It

The Peterson brothers have gone viral in a major way with their latest YouTube effort “I’m Farming and I Grow It” which is a parody of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It.” The video was posted two days ago, and as of this writing it has been viewed 395,036 times.  Amazing and fantastic considering the boys wanted to show the world what life is like on their farm and have a little fun doing it.  They have several other great videos on their channel which showcase the day to day activities of their Kansas farm.

Since the video went live the Petersons have been inundated with requests to speak with media and others in the ag community.  Many of you know I have a facebook fan page.  Well the Peterson brothers have one you can follow as well called Peterson Farm Bros.  If you want some perspective on how a viral video can boost your exposure, look no further than comparing my page to theirs.  My page has been up since February 2011 and 391 people like it.  I think that’s great, and likes have been picking up steam lately.  The Peterson boys?  They started their page, uh, yesterday and at this moment have 2036 likes.  That’s awesome.  It will be good for all of ag if these guys to latch on to this wave of popularity, and I think they are already doing just that.  Good luck Petersons!

My friend Janice is compiling a list of links about the Petersons on her blog including their interview with the Wichita Eagle.

What do you think of these guys!?

  1. I am Brian’s sister and I also work for the USDA Farm Service Agency. My coworkers were sharing the video with other colleagues this morning and at least one producer mentioned it when he stopped by the office today. These guys actually remind me a lot of Brian (though I’m not sure I can see him rapping!) – using social media as a platform to both educate and entertain. Great job Peterson Brothers…and my brother too! 🙂

  2. I was delighted to see this face of modern agriculture. I think a lot of people need to. Funny…they don’t look like Monsanto….

I’m not on facebook so I can’t help with the counts, but I will say that now that I know Brian from social media–every time I eat popcorn I picture your farm!
